Here's where you can find out about upcoming events, see assignments, and learn about our class.

Upcoming Events & Announcements:

 

Students are writing a book review. Students have chosen a book, and it should have been completely read by Monday, April 13. Many students were not finished. We are writing the rough draft and doing peer editing this week. The final paper will be due next week. 

 

Our first field trip is on Thursday, April 23. We will be going to Sat Lake City via TRAX. We will be visiting the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum as well as getting a tour of the Capitol building.PLEASE MAKE SURE TO DROP YOUR CHILD OFF AT THE HISTORI SANDY 9000s TRAX STATION AT 8:30AM. 

 

We have scheduled our second field trip to Camp Floyd for Friday, May 29. We will need a bus for this trip, as we are going west of Lehi, to Fairfield. We are asking for donations for that trip. If you are able to donate $5 to help out with the costs, that would be appreciated.   

 

Sage testing begins NEXT week. My students will be testing on the following dates: Science: April 29, 30. English/ Language Arts: May 6, 7. Math: May 12, 14. Please try to have students present on those dates. 

Homework April 20 - 24

 

Read 20 minutes each night and track minutes on RTSUtah.com 

 

Write 20 Spelling words three times each. *If students earn less than an 80%, they will have to write words 6 times the next week.  Spelling Test Friday.

 

Math- Monday Check My Progress after leson 12-3 HW, Tuesday 12-5 HW, Wednesday Chapter Review HW (due Friday). Friday Chapter 12 test.

 

Science - Students have finished the majority of the Utah Science curriculum for the year.  Students have been assigned a topic from the year to make a presentation on. They will be making Power Point presentations in class during computer time. These presentations will take place Monday and Tuesday in class. 

 

Social Studies - We are studying the settlement of Utah, and the challenges of gaining statehood. Students have designed a city in class with a group. We will back off on Social Studies a little bit until after Math, ELA, and Science Sage tests are completed. We will then focus more on the remaining Social Studies topics at the end of the school year.
